JR. BUYER / EXPEDITOR


SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

Procure raw materials and outside manufacturing services under the coaching of a SR. Buyer.  Contact suppliers to confirm deliveries to the promised PO.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the coaching of a Sr. Buyer, purchase raw materials, toolings, supplies and services in support of operational and production requirements.
  • Generate RFQ's, issue POs, expedite, justify pricing for all orders.
  • Follow up on invoicing, receiving and quality issues.
  • Manage external suppliers to achieve procurement targets on price, delivery and quality.
  • Work closely with Production Planning, Engineering and Quality to ensure business goals are met.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree with concentration in Supply Chain Management.
  • Willingness to learn.  Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Detail oriented, organized, strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.

SHOP FOREMAN


SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

Oversees all activities of workers engaged in the custom-machining of metallic and nonmetallic material.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Significant hands-on manufacturing experience in a precision machining environment.
  • Leadership/Management experience managing 20 or more CNC machinists. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with, communicate with and provide leadership to a diverse workforce.
  • Capable of reading blue prints, programming, set-up and operation of several CNC Mills and Lathes.
  • Ensure production are initiated with sufficient lead time to meet OTD date.
  • Assign and coordinate resources (employee, material, machines) to maintain part flow through routing operations with minimum wait time.
  • Review the customer MRP requirements, provides capacity planning input, assign production work consistent with the production plan to assigned resources & monitor the performance of the shop floor towards obtaining the production plan.
  • Manage employee performance, attendance, overtime and annual review process.
  • Actively seek out and implement ways to reduce manufacturing lead time by combining value added steps and/or eliminating non-value added steps with appropriate authorization from Engineering.
  • Understanding of Quality System, Configuration Control and Process Control policies, practices, procedures and work rules along with shop floor manufacturing/production systems.
  • Experience or developed skills in using MRP systems, Microsoft Excel, Work and other Microsoft tools.
  • Proficient at anticipating and resolving internal and external resource challenges encountered during manufacturing & product delivery process.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5+ years experience as Machine Shop Foreman.
  • Degree in Business or Engineering or the equivalent experience.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication as well as presentation skills at all levels.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER II


SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

Provide support to the operations team, contracts, purchasing, quality and production for fabrication of complex specialty machined parts and/or components prior to release to the shop and during production.  Work with Customers to review their designs for manufacturability.  Recommend design improvements, project manage prototype jobs from concept to fabrication and delivery.  Design and develop manufacturing and fabrication processes based on customer QFD captured through PFMEA practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of fabrication processes, materials, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, LEAN/TPS principles, Six Sigma and quality control practices.
  • Collectively partner with operations personnel to help define processing control methodology to produce complex machined components that meet engineering drawings.
  • Conduct projects to lower cost, improve quality and shorten lead-time.  Recommending and leveraging new fabrication techniques and technology.
  • Work collaboratively with production personnel to develop real-time solutions to production issues utilizing best known engineering practices and poke yoke concepts, leveraging analytical and statistical data.
  • Support prototype and pilot operations to ensure timely delivery to expectations of customers.
  • Occasional shift coverage may be required to see a critical project through and/or ability to be on call and accessible, as required, during critical production runs.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering with 5+ years of working experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of geometric tolerance and dimensioning per ANSI Y14.5
  • Abilility to read and interpret GD&T drawings, 3D CAD experience an Finite Element Analysis, a plus.
  • Project management experience preferred. EVM or PMI certification a plus.
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal. Highly organized. Customer Service experience a plus.
  • Familiar with world class machine shop concepts and practices preferred.

HORIZONTAL MACHINIST


SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

Operate and Set-up Horizontal A51 and A61 mill machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and plastic parts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fits and assembles machined parts into complete units.
  • Applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures.
  • Familiar with horizontal mill macros to preload and calculate tool and coordinate offsets.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Read & interpret GD&T.

MECHANICAL INSPECTOR


SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

Read and interpret blueprints, charts and tables and verify product dimensions for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.  CMM experience a must.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, fixed gauges, height gauges and other measuring devices.
  • Interpret Engineering instructions/requirements. Operate CMM.
  • Report deviations from specifications and tolerances to supervisor.
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5+ years Mechanical Inspector.
  • Excellent CMM Programming skill.
  • Read & interpret GD&T.

CNC MACHINISTS


SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

Operate and/or Set-up CNC lathe and/or mill machines to fabricate metallic and plastic parts, fit and assemble machined parts into complete units, and apply your knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures. Experience in reading interpreting blueprints and good knowledge of mechanical engineering is desired.  GGGG

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines, such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments. Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly, using jigs, fixtures, surface plate, surface table, hand tools, and power tools. Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.
  • May install machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and test operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5+ years Machinist experience.
  • Read & interpret GD&T
